Given that Adelphia was a publicly traded company, the purposeful non-disclosure caused potential investors to rely on financial records that were grossly misleading. The inevitable result was the investors continued to inject money into a company that had all the appearances of profitability and sustained growth, but that was, in reality, rapidly becoming insolvent. Moreover, lending institutions also relied on the â€Å"independently-audited† financial statements, and they were more than eager to loan the company money, given Adelphia’s presumed state of financial â€Å"profitability.† Personnel Gains The second ethical problem in this case relates to the Rigas family’s use of publicly-held corporate funds as a personal â€Å"piggy bank.† The Rigases used the company jet for personal reasons â€Å"without approval of the Board of Directors†, on one occasion flying to Africa for a safari (Markon Frank, 2002). SAFET Y AND SECURITY REQUIREMENTS Password are security features. Password are important to keeping your system information safe. Picking a good password and remembering it is easy if you use a few tricks. If you dont use a system for your password, youll end up writing them down somewhere which is unsafe. Writing Down Password: Passwords, often get written on the very things they are supposed to protect. Some folks write their Password on their debit or credit card. Of course, this gives the holder of that card a free pass to your account. If the card is lost or stolen, a dishonest person will appreciate that they have the Password conveniently written right on the card. Dont do it. Remembering Passwords: There are a variety of tricks you can use to remember Passwords. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. The rest of this page highlights a few of the methods you can use along with the pros and cons. The Word Method: One way to create and remember a Password. Think of the numbers and letters on your telephone. Then think about how you dial-by-name in a companys phone system. A disadvantage of password is that automated hacking programs can use words from the dictionary in a brute force attack. However, most systems will lock you out after a few unsuccessful attempts. The Date Method: Another way to create and remember a Password is to create it from significant dates. For example, if your birthday is November 15th, 1946, you can create a Password derived from your birthday. You might use 1115 (for the 11th month November and 15th day). You might also try 1546. The disadvantage of this method is that somebody who knows you may be able to guess your Password with their knowledge of your personal life. For best results, mix up the numbers: use part of a date with part of your address or phone number, etc. The Longer the Better: You should use the longest possible Password. Due to the miracles of math, there are more possible combinations of numbers in a longer series vs a shorter series. If youre allowed to use more than 4 digits, do so. 4. 3. SOFTWARE QUALITY ATTRIBUTES RELIABILITY * The system shall save the data stored in the user data structures * The system shall save the data of an active user whenever a new user is created. * The system shall save the data of an active user whenever a new account is created. * The system shall save the data of an active user whenever a user password is changed. The system shall reboot itself automatically if there is a power failure and restore all saved data to the user accounts. AVAILABILITY * The system shall be available and running in a stable state at all times * The Loan Officer Software shall be available at all times. SECURITY * The system shall require a password to allow a user to logon. * The system shall require the user to know their own password and account number. Jiberish Essay Example For Students

Jiberish Essay Welcome to Writing Argumentative Essays, a unit of curriculum which aims to teach students how to write short argumentative essays of approximately 1000 words. The unit was prepared for students undertaking the Victorian Certificate in English for Vocational Education and Further Study (EVEFS) course during my perod of employment at Victoria University of Technology (TAFE) in Melbourne, Australia. These students had a minimum ASLPR level of 2 (Upper Intermediate). However, the unit should be useable in any course involving the preparation of first or second language learners for further study at university or TAFE level. The unit assumes that the students have their own argumentative essay topic for the course they are undertaking. The unit is built around one particular type of argumentative essay. It is important to understand that there are many other ways of structuring argumentative essays than the one proposed in this unit. However, the structure outlined here has proved to be very effective in giving students a clear, accessible and useable model for their own essays. If you are a student who is accessing this curriculum in order to prepare for an assessment task involving the writing of an argumentative essay, you should first check with your teacher / tutor / lecturer to ensure that the structure outlined here is suitable for that task. (You should probably print out the marine park model and show it to the teacher / tutor / lecturer concerned). If you have any comments or questions about this unit of work please feel free to contact me: emailprotected or emailprotected This unit of work may be downloaded, printed and used for teaching and learning purposes by students or teachers on the sole condition that the copyright details are not to be removed from the bottom of each page. Thanks to ESL Planet for hosting these materials from February 1999.

Which Essay Topics Should You Study?

Which Essay Topics Should You Study? Each semester, as you sit through English 112, you are bombarded with essay topics. If you can't name them all, how can you decide which ones to include? For instance, you may be asked to write about how racism has impacted the Asian American community. Now how do you go about doing that? Your English class instructor could tell you to take a dictionary and look it up and see what it has to say.She could also tell you to speak to an expert about it to get different options for dialogue. Or, if that fails, she might point you to a local book store or internet search. The point is, you can't fully grasp the essence of the situation until you have a more thorough knowledge of the topic. This is also true in a study abroad course. You can't be sure how a student in another country feels until you have interacted with them first. You need to understand their culture and how they live their lives to even begin to write about it.For that reason, you will pr obably be better equipped to write about things you know about, because you have been exposed to the social world your assignment comes from. For instance, you can benefit from knowing about the Hungarian government. You might not be able to help yourself with things you don't know about, but you will have a better understanding of the politics of a certain society.Another thing you can learn about is the styles of arguments and writing that a professor uses in his or her thesis statement. You can better prepare yourself by reading more in-depth essay assignments, especially those that have questions and considerations attached to them.Every learning process comes with its benefits. You get to know your professor, and you may even learn something about another culture. It's a great deal for both. So, when you go away on an adventure to study in a new country, or even learn some foreign languages, learn from your teacher. Learn about topics you can't find information about. You never know, you may even get to sit in on a debate about racism in a different country.
